Worldwide Teach-In on Climate and Justice
The Worldwide Teach-In on Climate and Justice is a project of the Graduate Programs in Sustainability at Bard College in New York, USA, in partnership with the International Support Network for African Development, Open Society University Network and other partners worldwide.
The International Support Network for African Development (ISNAD-Africa) organised Teach-in events in thirteen (13) secondary schools across five countries in Africa. Leveraging the same co-creation approach and building on the impact of its Environmental Education Programme in secondary schools, ISNAD-Africa worked with students and their coordinating teachers across Africa to, plan and organise events that will be most effective means of education on climate justice in their varying contexts. To foster students’ leadership and ownership of the events, the teach-in approach ensures that the students take leadership and ownership of the events. The teach-in events featured aspects which include, but not limited to:
- Panel discussion
- Intergroup debate
- Breakout sessions
- Drama
- Creative artistry
- Cultural dance presentation
